Hewitt has 42 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, giving him a unique perspective on sustainable and renewable fuels. He introduced biodiesel to the USA petroleum distributors in 2005 and led marketing efforts by the National Biodiesel Board. Working with the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) he also introduced isobutanol into a gasoline blend to produce ethanol-free gasoline for boaters and small engine users.

Jess has served as an expert witness for in several cases involving trading and contracts for product sales of renewable fuels. His work with Conoco Propane culminated in a world record for a propane-powered Nissan 300ZX driven by Roger Mears at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.
